Welcome to Hampton United Methodist
Church! Allow us to embrace you with our radical hospitality through
this community of people connected together in this “place of
grace.” We are delighted that you are checking us out! If you have
never been in a worship setting, just relax and know that you are
entering what we hope is “sanctuary” for you. We have
intentionally designed worship to not be complicated. As you are
able, stand when others stand, sit when others sit, and make friends
with those around you. That’s it!
While we are a diverse faith family,
there’s one thing we all have in common. We all seek a renewed
relationship with God. That search takes us on a faith journey.
While it is a shared destination that we seek (the heart of God),
the path is unique for each one of us. Our challenge is to honor the
many different roads our individual faith journeys lead us on while
holding together a shared sense of purpose through this “place of
grace.” We do that through a shared vision. We believe that
through our service, God will; reach people, touch souls, change
hearts, and launch disciples.
This is a growing Church that is
committed to singles, couples, children, youth, and people of all
ages who are just starting their faith journey. And yet, if you have
walked several years in your faith, you may find your ministry here
(or perhaps God desires you to help us build it!) We are open to
the possibilities that God brings through you!
If I can answer any questions you have
about us, I would be happy to meet informally with you. I consider
it a great privilege to listen to your story or to share our story.
If we do not offer what you are seeking, I encourage you to keep
looking. A part of you longs for God or you would not be here right
now. All I can say is that this “place of grace” is a place where
you can listen for God’s gentle voice. My prayer for you is
that you know the warmth, love, and grace of a God who stands along
side you even now as you seek “sanctuary.” We look forward to
walking with you on the road of life.
