Faith Family:

Sunday was an amazing day. We worshipped God and God was fully present. Our new staff person (Oscar Smith) shared some of his musical passion with us at both services as part of our way of introducing our new Contemporary Worship Leader to all of you - it was truly amazing! Now there are lots of questions; specifically, when are we going to begin our new worship service, how are we going to get the word out, what does this all mean to me? These are the details of change. I am delighted that through this weekly Tuesday Tickle received by every member of our faith family (mainly by email but some by regular mail), we have a tool to keep everyone informed as to what is going on as we grow together. We have a lot of work to do before we launch. Oscar has to form up his band. We have to get the space ready. Once we have a handle on both of those, we should be able to define a firm date that Outreach (and you know that every member of this church is part of the Outreach Team) can begin communicating that date to our community in many ways. We are trying to integrate several things at once; Preschool marketing, "back to school summer bash on the lawn" event, kick off of Fall Wed night cycle, and Contemporary Worship Service launch. Stay tuned, more to come! In the meantime, you can help me communicate your ministry and small group activities for the fall cycle. Please email me details so they can be included in the Tickle.

Send Cody's cards to the Burgess Family - we will get them to our neighbor.

Did You Know?:

That your North Georgia Annual Conference (comprised of the 970 United Methodist Churches in the upper half of the state of Georgia) has it's own form of a Tuesday Tickle? It actually comes in many forms. There is "Monday Morning in North Georgia", "Weekly Update", and "Conference Prayers and Concerns." They all come from the Office of Rev. Dr. Jamie Jenkins (Assistant to our Bishop.) Anyone can electronically sign up to be included at the following link:

www.ngumc.org/site/stayconnected

Give it a whirl for a month or so - there is a world of information and network in our Conference just waiting to connect to you! You will learn about upcoming Conference events and activities.

Membership Sunday:

As everyone who worships with us knows, no one ever stands alone when they join this part of the body of Christ at Hampton UMC. But even given that truth, some folks look for the opportunity to join at the same time with other people who are joining. There are many of you who have been worshipping with us for some time who may be waiting for this very opportunity. We are designating July 25th (the last Sunday before school starts) as our next Membership Sunday. If you are interested, please contact me so that I can answer any question you have about taking this next significant step in your faith journey. You are invited.
